Renewing your Payments in the Canada Recovery Benefit

CANADA RECOVERY BENEFIT RENEWING PAYMENTS

know the details you need to keep in mind to be on track to renew your canada recovery benefit payments.

You must Re-apply CRB Benefit Every 2 weeks

The CRB would not renew immediately. You must reapply after each time, up to a limit of 13 times, to continue receiving payments. You can check your application background in CRA My Account under “COVID-19 Support Payment Application Information” to see how many periods you’ve already earned the CRB.

Check to see if you’re still qualifying.

To keep getting the benefit, you must continue to follow all of the CRB eligibility requirements. When you reapply, make sure you’re still worthy.

Continue the job quest.

The CRB assists people who are unable to function or have a decreased salary as a result of COVID-19. You must be looking for work to be eligible. We recommend that you visit Job Bank, Canada’s national employment service, which provides tools to assist you in your job search.

What should I do if I need to reapply?

You can only apply after the two-week limit during which you are applying has passed. Any time you apply, the procedure is the same.

Decide when you’ll be able to apply.

If you know when you want to apply, you can do it online or on the phone.

Where do you hope to be paid?

If you qualify for the CRB, you should expect to receive $1,000 ($900 after taxes are deducted) for the 2-week duration for which you apply.
