INCOME TAX AND RESIDENCE STATUS

As a general rule, if you are a Québec resident within the meaning of the Taxation Act, you must pay Québec income tax on all of your international income.
If you are not a Québec resident as defined by the Act, you are only obligated to pay Québec income tax on specific income generated in the province.

VOLUNTEER PROGRAM FOR INCOME TAX ASSISTANCE
The Income Tax Assistance – Volunteer Program’s goal is to help those who are unable to file their tax returns on their own and cannot afford to hire a professional.
The Canada Revenue Agency (CRA) and Revenu Québec jointly manage the program. The program is made possible by the participation of hundreds of community groups and thousands of volunteers from around Québec.

A straightforward tax position
In general, your tax position is deemed simple if you have no income or if your money comes from the following sources:
- Employment.
