in this publication you will learn what the CRB (Canada Recovery Benefit) is and how to apply for it to receive the government subsidy.

What is the Canada Recovery Benefit and what does it mean for Canadians?

The Canada Recovery Benefit (CRB) is financial aid for those of us that have been impacted by COVID but don’t qualify for Employment Insurance, also known as EI. This is the program that many of us have been waiting for since we knew that CERB was going to end, so this new subsidy appeared in order to replace it.

How do you Apply for the benefit CRB?

The Canada Revenue Agency is encouraging Canadians to apply online. If you haven’t already, setup your online “CRA MY ACCOUNT” on CRA’s website We’ll include links in the description below to help you with this.

This open also allows you to setup direct deposit so you can get your benefits faster.

Questionnaire of criteria for application of the benefit

Before starting the application we can check the benefit requirements by filling out a step-by-step questionnaire on the Canadian government’s website https://www.canada.ca/en/revenue-agency/services/e-services/e-services-individuals/account-individuals.html.

We must first answer whether we are applying for or receiving another benefit and whether we have a CRA account.

Then we answer the direct deposit questions to find out how many days it takes for the benefit to be granted, and we continue to check the impact of other territorial or provincial income or disability benefits. Before applying for the CRB, you should check with your Provincial or Territorial Social Assistance Office to ensure that your other benefits will not be affected.
